Why Most Digital Marketing Feels Empty

Scroll through Instagram for 10 minutes and count how many business posts are variations of the same thing: product photos, discount announcements, generic motivational quotes, "DM us for enquiries."

Now ask yourself: how many of those brands do you actually remember 10 minutes later?

This is the problem with most digital marketing — it communicates what a business does, occasionally how it does it, but almost never why.

And according to Simon Sinek's Golden Circle framework — the most-watched TED talk of all time — that's exactly backwards.

The Golden Circle Explained

The model is simple:

What — every business knows what they do

How — some businesses can articulate how they do it differently

Why — very few can clearly communicate why they do it

Sinek's insight is that the most loyal, inspiring brands — Apple, Nike, Tesla — communicate from the inside out. They start with why, then explain how, and only then show what.

Most businesses do the opposite. They lead with what they sell.
